Rev. Dr. Donna Evans, Pastor
It is a privilege and a honor to introduce you to Pastor Donna Evans. She grew up in Festus, Missouri, the youngest of Rev. Leo Evans’ and Ruthie Evans’ seven children. Her father was an ordained minister who served at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Crystal City for more than 25 years. Donna followed in his footsteps and she often looks to scriptural examples of others who served God – such as Gideon who expressed self-doubt and demanded signs (Judges 6:12-17,) and Mary who responded simply, Behold the handmaid of the Lord. (Luke 1:38) “When called to serve,” she says, “walk in your calling.”
Led by Rev. Robert L. Owens, pastor of Mt. Pilgrim Free Will Baptist Church, she accepted Christ at age 13. In 1977 she studied Child Evangelism. Under the leadership of Dr. Charles Roach, she accepted the call to ministry, becoming licensed to minister in 2010. She pursued undergraduate studies at several colleges and universities, and after earning an MBA from Lindenwood University, she attended Berean University of the Assemblies of God, and the International College of Bible Theology (ICBT) where she completed her graduate theology studies. She traveled to Israel, earned her Doctorate of Theology (Th.D.) from Cohen Bible College, and was ordained in 2012.
Prior to establishing Trinity Mt. Carmel Church of Jefferson County, Donna served in ministry at Trinity Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in St. Louis as the Lead Servant to the New Member’s Ministry, Sunday School Teacher, and Teen Church Teacher. She also served as Assistant to Pastor Solomon Williams at New Jerusalem Church of God in Christ in St. Louis. When she was called to establish our church in Festus, Missouri, it was under the mantle and guidance of Dr. Charles Roach and Trinity Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in St. Louis.
Trinity Mt. Carmel Church of Jefferson County held its first service on Sunday, June 1, 2014 at the Best Western Hotel and opened the doors at our current location of 321 South Adams Street on June 22, 2014.
